The Professional Development Department of SAICE-PDP employs a dedicated team of senior professionals who focus on developing engineering capacity. They are involved in a range of activities from supporting students who require experiential learning through to mentoring, coaching or advising those who need support to develop the competence required for professional registration.

Professional development support offered includes:

    • Development and management of experiential training for National Diploma students
    • Designing and/or advising on the development of workplace training programmes for developing candidates towards professional registration
    • Assessment, placement and development of built environment graduates in the public sector
    • Mentoring, coaching and supervision of candidates in the workplace towards professional registration
    • Advising those ready for professional registration on structuring and completing their submissions
    • Managing bursary schemes
    • Career pathing, job profiling, assessments and the development of workplace competence standards
